He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Isaiah 40:29 NLT
Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand. Isaiah 41:10 NLT
Lately, I feel scared. My stomach churns. I feel like something bad is going to happen to me. A since of doom and gloom.
Just yesterday, my husband went to a funeral of someone who committed suicide in his 60’s. This man had lived in torment for many years. He had fought in the Vietnam War. That may have been when the vexation started, trying to overcome the horror.
How we must admit that we can’t fight our battles on our own. We are far too weak. We absolutely must know that our God is the One who gives us that extra dose of strength to overcome. God has the victory for us. He doesn’t worry about the enemy. He scatters them like chaff before the wind.
The enemy tells us that God is aloof and will not come to the rescue. That voice is very wrong. God will come. He will hold us up with His victorious right hand. God doesn’t lose. When we give in, we lose. When we lose our faith, we lose.
This is the victory that overcomes the world… our faith. NOT our strength. Our faith. Our faith in Jesus Christ and His love for us.
I remember when I was in college there was a guy that believed in himself more than anyone I had ever met. He wasn’t great looking, or particularly smart. To me, he was just average, except he believed he could be successful.
And you know what… he became very successful. He worked hard and became successful with a beautiful wife and kids. The first step to success is believing in yourself.
Christians believe their strongest strength comes from God. How can you not believe in yourself when you know the one who made everything is ready to blow your enemies away like chaff? He is our Father and wants our best. (“For in Christ Jesus, you are sons of God through faith”. Gal. 3:26)
God gives us power. His Goodness is stronger than the worldly evil. We can have faith in ourselves because of who is helping us fight our battles. He knows exactly what we need to glorify Him and be a winner.
Lord, I don’t want to just proclaim your power and strength, I want it to be evident in my life. I’m talking….bring it on. Let’s stop the world from asking if YOU really exist. Let’s prevent another soul from giving up. Let ME show others what victories can be.
God, I am fighting a battle right now, I need supernatural strength. I need you to hold me up, away from the woes of this world. God, YOU are my God. Thank you for the power to mount up like an eagle, to excel without getting tired. To have joy and peace that transcends this world.
through faith in You… I WILL be victorious. Thank you Almighty God.
