Not Celebrating Christmas

choirI’m NOT celebrating Christmas this year. I’d love to, but my heart is cracked like an eggshell…… completely crumbled in gooey hard pieces.

As the choir sang their joyous cantata Sunday night, all I could think about was the trauma on children sold into prostitution, boys and girls orphaned by Ebola and Aids. How do I sing joy to THE WORLD when THE WORLD doesn’t know THE JOY?

There’s the gaping hole, the white elephant in the sanctuary, the billowing smoke that won’t let me breathe. “An injustice ANYWHERE IS AND INJUSTICE EVERYWHERE” (see video)

I’m NOT celebrating; I’m doing something a little more radical. I’m defending childhood.

Hey, I really don’t want you to stop your parties. Really! Our Savior deserves continuous praise.

Maybe my mourning and protesting is a form of celebration??

Learn to do good; Seek justice, Reprove the ruthless, Defend the orphan, Plead for the widow. Isaiah 1:17 NASB

Yes, speak up for the poor and helpless, and see that they get justice. Prov. 31: 8-9 NLT

Tell you what would bring eggnog and delight for me:

If 4 more people would sponsor a child through World Vision before Christmas. HERE’s THE LINK! or I’ll bring some child folders for you to look through if you live near by! A CHILD IS WORTH SAVING.

Oh holy night! That would be some sweet frankincense and myrrh in my wounds!

Radical love brings radical results. That’s why “a man of sorrows”,  Jesus Christ was born.

We have sponsored a child through world vision since 1999 – after spending time with Melody & really understanding the depth of poverty these children are in we now sponsor a boy & a girl! It’s a great feeling to know you are part of a organization that does things that really matter.

If you don’t have a child or your older & your children are grown -it’s very fulfulling. You can send them gifts & letter too!

Only $34 a month to feed a child for a month! Like Nike says – Just Do It!

This year consider deeply, if you will, bringing “tidings of comfort and joy” to a child in need of hope, encouragement and a desire to feel love like never before. You’ll feel the blessings flowing from your heart. I know, it did for me!
